Comparison of the system for dealing with domestic violence against women in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway

The master thesis deals with a comparison of domestic violence in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. Domestic violence is a serious problem, occurring in all societies regardless of time or culture. The thesis describes the funding system, the legislative framework of the issue, the main actors in the issue of domestic violence against women, the current situation with regard to the issue of domestic violence and the system of support both in the Czech Republic and in the Kingdom of Norway. The main objective is to describe and explain the approaches to dealing with domestic violence against women. The thesis is based on the theory of welfare state regimes, which is based on Esping-Andersen's 1990 typology of the welfare state, focusing on the concept of "women friendly" originally from 1987, as well as on the theoretical "public health approach", which focuses a lot on prevention, and is complemented by expert interviews with experts on the issues in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Norway. The whole thesis aims to compare approaches to violence against women in two different welfare states and to find recommendations for the Czech Republic. Social security in selected countries of the EU

The bachelor thesis "Social security in selected countries of the European Union" dissert on so-called "welfare states", how are nowadays called developed countries in regard of their approach to social policy. According to the typology of Esping-Andersen are these welfare states classified into three following types: liberal, social-democratic and conservative. One representative had been chosen to each of these types: liberal model is represented by Great Britain, Finland represents social-democratic model and Germany became a representative of conservative model. Sections 3-5 contain detailed characteristic of social security in Great Britain, Finland and Germany and its comparison.
